Children’s Ministry Assignment
1. Pray without ceasing. Pray for leaders and students in preparation. Pray before and during each class. Be ready to pray with each child that responds.
2. Show hospitality. Smile boldly. Be friendly and outgoing. Learn names. Each child is our special guest.
3. Offer directions. Tell the children when festivities are starting. Encourage them to sit down.
4. Spot. Spot attentive children and make a list. When asked to choose children, start with the most attentive and alternate names. If possible, use every ready child in turn.
5. Promote safety. Take control of the exit. Help parents locate their children. Say, “I want you to com back next week!”
Children’s Ministry Code
First, as a Children’s Ministry worker, I will demonstrate enthusiastic
support for family and adult services. Children’s Church is not an escape
from church. It is church.
Second, I will help create an environment of blessing by speaking only words
of encouragement. I will abstain from teasing or provocation of young
students.
Third, I will provide for the safety and security of all, such as
supervising the hallway and restroom, not allowing children to leave without
permission. I will be aware of allergies or other special needs.
Fourth, I will display an attitude of eagerness to serve.
